FAQs

Common questions

What is the MSRA?

The Multi-Specialty Recruitment Assessment is a computer-based exam used in UK specialty recruitment. It has two papers: Clinical Problem Solving (CPS), which tests applied clinical knowledge, and Professional Dilemmas (PD), a situational judgement paper testing professional decision-making.

Does Pass the MSRA cover both papers?

Yes. There are 16 clinical specialty courses for the CPS paper, plus a dedicated SJT course, SJT question bank and free SJT textbook for the Professional Dilemmas paper. Both papers also have 10 full mock papers each.

What is included with membership?

Membership unlocks all 16 specialty courses, 8,800+ exam-style questions, 22,500+ flashcards, rapid-recall Q&As, structured revision summaries across 1,100+ clinical topics, 800+ SJT scenarios, and 20 full mock papers (10 CPS with 970 questions, 10 SJT with 500 questions) in timed and untimed modes.

What can I access for free?

The 100-page SJT textbook, the YouTube lesson library, the podcast back catalogue on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music, and the Reddit communities are all free and always will be. Course overview pages are also public. The question banks, flashcards and mock papers require membership.

How is this different from a general medical question bank?

Everything is built specifically for the MSRA rather than adapted from finals or postgraduate material. The specialty coverage matches the MSRA blueprint, questions use the exam's own formats, and the Professional Dilemmas paper is treated as a first-class subject rather than an afterthought.

Are the materials based on current UK guidance?

Content is written against current UK practice and guidance, including NICE and GMC Good Medical Practice for the SJT material, and is reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis. Always check the latest official guidance for clinical practice — these are revision materials, not a clinical reference.

How long should I revise for the MSRA?

Most candidates find six to twelve weeks of consistent revision works well alongside clinical work, though this varies. If you are starting earlier, a longer membership lets you work through the specialties steadily and leave the mock papers for the final few weeks.

Which membership period should I choose?

Choose the period that covers your revision window. One month suits focused final revision; three or six months suits a standard revision block; twelve months gives the lowest monthly equivalent and covers a resit if needed. See the pricing page for full details.

Does my membership renew automatically?

Plans renew automatically only where the recurring-payment option is selected at checkout. You can view and manage your membership, including cancelling future renewals, from your account page at any time.

Can I get a refund?

Refund eligibility depends on how much content has been accessed and how long since purchase. The full conditions are set out in our Refund Policy — please read it before purchasing, and email passthemsra@gmail.com if you have a question about your specific situation.

Your training post is worth revising for properly.
